The COVID-19 pandemic has caused us to modify our instructional practices to create new, more responsive approaches. More twists and turns will likely arise in the months to come, too. Whatever the challenges ahead, I want to reassure you that Ignite School is dedicated to safely educating every student every day. I also want to reassure you that Ignite School remains committed to the success of the whole child. We will continue to use responsive teaching practices and ensure that our students learn in a safe and dynamic environment, stay academically and socially emotionally engaged, and feel supported and challenged as learners.
As the year unfolds, Ignite School will steadfastly remain a wonderfully diverse and child-centered community where all students receive what they need to grow as learners; have access to support services and talented staff; and benefit from collaborative partnerships. In fact, partnerships between home and school have never been more critical; we will be working to establish and strengthen that bond in the 2021-2022 school year.
The one thing we can confidently predict is that the year ahead will be unpredictable. I want to hear what’s working and where we have room to improve to better meet the needs of all students. So please keep ideas, concerns, and compliments coming. Whether you are new or returning to Ignite School, I welcome you to a new school year like none before --Yet one that we know will be filled with learning and growth for every child.
