Mrs. Wedad's Message 

I would like to thank our parents that were able to attend and participate with our Emirati Children's Day and Hag Al Laila. Thank you for your generosity and contributions to these important events. Another eventful week is ahead of us with Sports Days, Parent-teacher conferences, progress reports and the beginning of Spring Break. The campus will remain open for parents during Spring Break. Myself and members of the SLT team will be available to meet with parents. Admissions and Finance will be open to accommodate our parents for re-registration and new admissions. 

I am excited to share the great news of additional parent parking. You will soon see the new space just outside of the main entrance. 

We look forward to seeing parents at our upcoming Sports Days next week.

As we approach the last week of school before Spring Break, beginning on March 27th, I'm proud to announce our Elementary School Student Council.

These fortunate and well-deserving students successfully ran for elections in their homerooms and have now been recognized as our new crop of ES leaders. They will assist their teachers and lead in division-wide student activities and decisions.

One of the skills our young leaders will also begin to develop is the ability to debate an issue or topic; in other words to inform and persuade an audience of their peers about the validity of their opinions. Fortunately, some of our fortunate students from Ms. Michelle’s second-grade class have already begun training in this key life skill in their classes. 

Our early childhood division participated with gusto in our Emirati children’s Day events including the First Grade parade which 20 First Grade parents attended. Based on your feedback we are happy you enjoyed this simple but meaningful event in your child’s school and community life!

Another exciting event took place on Thursday morning with our 8th graders who took in new information about credit hours and course selection and peppered us with questions about their future life at Ignite High School. They asked us many questions about their elective choices, SAT and EMSAT testing, varsity athletics, and about their secondary education- to-college-to-career pathways!

We are looking forward to discussing this next chapter of Ignite’s development with the parents of our incoming freshman class at two upcoming events:

Tuesday, March 22nd, 11:00 am-12:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room

Thursday, March 24th, 2:00-3:00pm in the Multi-Purpose Room

A third session to be held upon our return from Spring Break will be announced shortly.

2. Talent show - Please note that the Talent show has been postponed until after Eid.
3. March 22-23 - Sports Days - Parents are invited to attend
4. March 24-25 - Progress Report Pick Up / Parent / Teacher Conferences
5. March 28 - Spring Break starts

Spring Break Camp

For Ignite Students, friends and family!

Gulf Star is excited to announce that we are teaming up with Ignite School to deliver an action-packed Spring Camp this March.

The Camp will start on the 28th of March and will run for two weeks until the 8th of April. The Camp will run from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Drop off will be between 8:30 am and 9:00 am and pick up will be between 1:45 pm and 2:00 pm. All additional information can be found in the Info Pack attached.

We will be adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols and ensuring that all our activities are run safely.

All children will participate in 4 activities across the
day and activities will vary dependent on the
“theme of the week.”

There will be a range of activities on offer. In a typical day, you can expect your child to have at least two sports-based sessions, one `calming creative’ i.e. art and one `active creative’ i.e. dance or martial arts.

Activities on offer include:
football, dodge ball, gymnastics, martial arts, swimming, racquet sports, basketball, cricket, rugby, handball, gardening, performing arts (all kinds of dancing including hip hop for boys and girls), drama, and art. We also run team-building activities throughout the week.
