High School Grand Opening, Graduation Prep and more...
Week 35 (May 22 - May 28)
Mrs. Wedad's Message
This was an exciting week humming with many positive activities for students, parents and teachers!
We started the week off with a full Open Day welcoming new parents and their children to Ignite. KG1 enjoyed their Field Trip to Oli Oli Children's museum and came back chattering for days about all the fun they had. We hosted 2 Parent Workshops. Student attendance has maintained an average of 93% this week. Thank you to our parents for their support.
We have the High School Grand Opening coming soon. June 14th we will have our red ribbon-cutting ceremony. Invitations will be shared prior with more details.
If you have not yet re-registered your child, I encourage to do so. We will have our Move-Up Day coming very soon. This day will enable all re-registered students the opportunity to experience their next grade level and meet the Grade level team.
Parent Workshops This week we hosted two Parent Workshops, one for MAP and one for Math. We are pleased to see parents attending these and will continue with them throughout the school year.
For the next academic year, they will begin in September and we will have a variety of topics starting with curriculum, IT at Ignite, Parent Communications and so on. If there are any specific topics you would like to see, please let us know. We value your feedback!
You can view the Math presentations presented by Ms Ashanta. The next workshop will be June 8 and the topic will be covering Science and inviting parents into the labs!
Teacher placements for 2022-2023 We are pleased to announce a high retention in our teaching staff this year at Ignite. In some instances, teachers will be be moving up with their existing classes. Following the extended online learning experienced during COVID this can be instrumental in enhancing a student's learning as the teacher is already familiar with the student. The selected teachers are all experienced and qualified to do so and students are not required to stay with their teacher and class. Theses teachers that are transitioning to preferred grade levels are Mr Isiah in KG2 (moving up to Grade 5), Ms Amy Bin Sassi (moving to Grade 1 from Grade 2), Mr Benjamin (moving from Grade 1 to Grade 2), Ms Mariam (Moving from Grade 2 to Grade 3), Mr Aurelius (Mr Max - moving from Grade 2 to Grade 3), Ms Briana Searcy (moving from Grade 3 to Grade 4), and Mr Redrick (Moving from Grade 4 to Grade 5). Those parents with the opportunity to loop up received direct communication during the week.
Upcoming Graduations A reminder to our KG and Grade 8 parents that your child will be participating in a graduation ceremony. Please submit forms and payment by June 3rd.
