Mrs. Wedad's Message 

I am very happy to see teachers and students have settled into the daily school routines and practices. We continue to place emphasis on the importance of safe distancing, wearing masks and handwashing and sensitization. Despite the fact that school activities and PE are on hold due to safety precautions, Ignite Students are able to enjoy recess time (Brain Break) outdoors utilizing our specious school courtyards and fields.

The second semester is a great opportunity to reiterate expectations and rules to ensure a positive and orderly school climate. Attached for your reference is the phone policy which will be implemented starting Monday, January 24^th,2022.

Additionally, the link to our Parent-Student Handbook is provided for your reference.

Registration Open Day is scheduled for Monday, January 24^th   from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. We are now enrolling in grades KG1-Grade 9 for the next academic year.

It’s hard to believe that we have already completed the third school week of January 2022! Some of you may remember last year at this time our Covid cases were so numerous that a decision was made to move the school completely online. This year we have taken a different approach as we learn to adapt our school lives to the pandemic around us. We know that social relationships among children are critical to their development so we are emphasizing the importance of face-to-face teaching and learning, which in the hands of skillful elementary educators, will almost always be superior to online learning.

January is going by so quickly!

With the second semester in full swing, it is time to start setting goals as a Middle School learning community. One of the big goals I discussed with our librarian, Ms Regina, when she first began was to get our Principal Advisory Board involved to begin our #BookLove Literacy campaign, kind of like we did for anti-bullying this year with some contests that promote readership, such as ‘book trailers’ from the scholars about a book they read that why they’d recommend it for others. .Those who were here last year will remember the book drive to donate books, and while successful, it did not have any impact on scholars’ reading. We need to do better with the little things and the big things.  I look forward to working with each group of people and individuals to build that culture of loving to read!
